About this Book
“All models are wrong, but some are useful”. These words are attributed to the British statistician George E. Box (1919-2013) and are the inspiration for the title of this book.
This book discusses the basic skills required to excel at engineering analysis in general, and structural analysis with ANSYS in particular. In addition to “soft skills” several advanced concepts, techniques, tips and tricks have also been discussed. It is hoped that this work will prove beneficial to structural analysts of all levels.
The book contains some of the top content from this website in an easy to follow and referenceable format. Approximately half of the content in the book is not included on this website.

Amazing Book
Excellent Work
I find it very useful, excellent work – Burak Elitok, Turkey
If you can explain it well, you understand it
This book is like an “Executive Summary” of FEA. The book is concise and concepts are particularly well explained, which is what is needed before immersion into heavy FEA math. I also found the “Soft Skills” and the Ansys sections very informative and useful.
